The Houston Council of Safety Professionals was started in 1960 by a small group of concerned safety supervisors and law enforcement personnel for the purpose of improving truck and bus fleet safety in the Houston area. Our membership has grown to include well over one hundred area companies employing thousands of commercial truck and bus drivers, as well as various law enforcement agencies in and around the Houston area.

The H.C.S.P. conducts the annual Regional Truck Driving Championship Contest here in Houston. From Houston, the winners go to College Station for the State Truck Driving Championship Contest. The state winners are eligible to compete in the National Truck Driving Championships, held in various cities in the United States every year.

We also sponsor the Share the Road Program, Educational Seminars and the Cooperative Road Patrol.
